A cultural association exists to promote a small Greek island. Its site had to be found by the people planning a visit.

The situation

The Cultural Association of Othoni promotes its island, in the Diapontia group north-west of Corfu. For the association the outcome is reach: more people finding the island and planning a visit.

othonoi.org went live on 13 June 2026 with the association's pages, a directory of local businesses and the ferry timetable. The August deploy was a search and content pass on top of that site.

What we saw

Searches for the island in July 2026 returned travel sites and Corfu blogs, and no result from othonoi.org.

What we built, and why

The reasoning matters more than the deliverable: a different place would need different answers.

Written in the association's voice

The pages added in August follow the voice of the association's own blog posts, so a visitor reads the island as the association describes it.

A page for each part of planning a visit

The August deploy added pages for the island and its places, for the events, and for getting there from the mainland.

What happened

Search Console recorded 39 clicks and 961 impressions from Google web search before the August deploy. That window is the 28 days from 27 June to 24 July 2026. From 3 August to 24 October, 83 days, it recorded 923 clicks and 33,382 impressions.

August brought 460 clicks, September 350 and the first 24 days of October 113. The association's site gives May to October as the island's best season.

Cloudflare Web Analytics, with bots excluded, counted 3,130 visits and 4,910 page views on othonoi.org from 3 August to 24 October.

The site went live on 13 June and Search Console holds data for it from 27 June, so the first window is the site's first weeks. The second window falls inside that season. A site settling into search, the season and the August deploy overlap, and nothing here is apportioned between them.

Still open. These figures cover one season. How the reach holds through the winter is not yet known.
